Stalking - VAWA
University Police received a report on April 1, 2025 of stalking which occurred between January 15, 2025 and April 1, 2025 where a known actor has followed victims to various locations across the Brandywine Campus. The reports indicate multiple persons throughout the semester have encountered the same person on numerous occasions. Suspect has been acting in such a way to make the victims feel uncomfortable. If you, or someone you know, has been victim of similar incident, you are strongly encouraged to report to police immediately. Police are investigating.
Incidents have been reported at the Commons and Athletic Center, on-campus study room in the Library, Student Academic Success Center, first floor common area and restroom of the Orchard Hall, and the Dining Hall.
Brandywine
- Document the stalking behaviors, even if you are unsure about reporting to the police.
- Inform trusted neighbors, friends, family members, or classmates that you are being stalked and tell them not to give any information about you to anyone.
- Keep your doors locked when you are in the room alone.
It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible 'dangerous conditions' on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an 'affirmative duty' exists to warn persons associated with the University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
