Reported Offense Narrative:
University Police received a burglary report at 1:29 a.m. on November 12, 2022. The reported burglary occurred between 1:10 a.m and 1:25 a.m. on November 12, 2022, on the third floor of Juniata Residence Hall, located in the Harrisburg Campus Capital Village. The Capital Village complex is in the northeastern portion of campus, adjacent to Olmsted Dr and Penn State Way. The victim, a student, reported that three unknown perpetrators knocked on the exterior residence door and forced their way into the residence when the victim answered the door. Two perpetrators forced the victim to remain in one area of the residence while the other searched through the victim's room and belongings. The perpetrators left the victim's residence after learning the victim attempted to call for help on his cell phone.

Personal Safety Tips
- Do not admit strangers into your residence hall.
- Don't compromise your safety for a roommate or friend who wants the door left unlocked.
- Report all suspicious persons, vehicles, and activities to your University Police department immediately.
- Keep doors and windows locked. Report inoperable locks and latches to the appropriate maintenance personnel.
It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the University community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible 'dangerous conditions' on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an 'affirmative duty' exists to warn persons associated with the University of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
